2019-10-22

On October 16, 2019, the European Commission (CEN) issued the Harmonized Standard for the Toy Directive 2009/48/EC. The European Commission has issued harmonized standards to make the requirements covered by the Toy Safety Directive 2009/48/EC clearer. The harmonized standards stipulate the test methods and corresponding limits, and the corresponding products should be consistent the requirements of the harmonized standards. In order to incorporate the latest technology into the EN 71-3 test method, the European Commission has replaced EN71-3: 2019 as a harmonized standard with EN 71-3:2013+A3:2018, EN71-3: 2019 revised test methods for hexavalent chromium and organotin and limits for hexavalent chromium, and EN 71-3:2013+A3:2018 will be withdrawn on April 15, 2020, effective from the date of this decision.
